Scientists of Kazakhstan and Great Britain Will Share Best Practices in Astana. April 2, 2013. By Kazakhstanskaya Pravda. ASTANA – Kazakhstan's National Center of Science and Technology Evaluation and the British Council will sponsor a workshop April 5 and 6 on forming a Kazakhstan-British science-research partnership.
The workshop is expected to lead to joint research between the countries in fields that Kazakhstan has identified as priorities, including energy, raw materials processing, and information and telecommunication technology.
Simon Williams, the director of the British Council, said the partnership “will be mutually beneficial for Kazakhstan and Great Britain” by helping scientists do joint research in important fields.
Lecturers from a number of top international universities will conduct training sessions in conjunction with the workshops on how to prepare winning research-grant applications. The lecturers will discuss applications for grants from Kazakhstan and research-financing institutions abroad.
The workshop and training sessions are expected to help create a dialogue between Kazakhstan and international scientists and representatives of top international research-funding organizations.
