Memorandum of understanding in the field of science and technology between Kazakhstan and Republic of Korea was signed

June 19, 2014 the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Science, Information and Communication Technologies and future planning of the Republic of Korea has signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of science and technology activities during the state visit of the President of the Republic of South Korea Park Geun-Hye to Kazakhstan.

The main purpose of the Memorandum is strengthening friendly relations and cooperation in education, science and technology between the Ministries of the two countries, as well as the following organizations:

• Korean sides - Korean Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI), Korea Institute for Evaluation and Planning of Science and Technology (KISTEP), Korea Institute of Basic Science (KBSI);

• Kazakh side - National Center of Science and Technology Evaluation (NCSTE), National Centre for Scientific and Technical Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan (INTI) and Science Fund.

It should be noted international relations between the NCSTE and the Korean KISTEP has been actively developed out over the past two years and aimed at sharing best practices and capacity building in scientific and technological activities.

The Memorandum will promotes the integration of education, science and industry of the two countries, the introduction of new methods and innovative technologies and improve scientific capacity by organizing and participating in educational seminars, trainings and scientific conferences in the field of science and technology.
